OK, with all due respect to those who love Joni's 80s albums, I'll just say
that there are four songs I'd keep from her output during that decade:
Chinese Cafe
Moon at the Window
Love
Corrina, Corrina
I guess that means that I prefer WTRF to CMIARS, and that I don't like DED
at all.
That would be right. When I first joined the list, many people told me to
listen to DED again and again, so that I might see the light.
Well, I did. And whatever charms this album may hold for others, they are
absolutely lost on me.
The inexplicable thing is how easily people (including Elvis Costello)
dismiss the 1980s. Some (but by no means all) of my favorite artists who
released great albums in the 1980s are: Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Elvis
Costello, U2, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, The Pretenders, The Police, Stevie
Ray Vaughan, Tom Waits, Los Lobos, Prince, Eurythmics.
I forgot a lot of people. But I didn't (don't flame me, this is just mho)
forget Joni Mitchell.....
