Take a look at XStream's build (Codehaus). It does a multipart thing
where some classes are compiled for 1.4 and some for 1.5 then all
shoved into one jar that's adaptive in terms of features. Tis pretty
neat - XStream is many people's high-bar Agile project by the way.
