Lee,
This is a really crummy solution, but when the exact same thing happened to
me, here is the solution I used: Install JRun, reinstall, and Patch to SP1.
I jumped through hoops trying to get JRun installed on a production machine,
after the install when smoothly on Development, QA, and another Production
server. I had to install three times, but it worked after the last install.
The only other situation I have run into is when only of our guys got
confused during an install and set the ports incorrectly. He found the
documentation a little unclear, and set ports wrong. Make sure under JRun
Default Server > JRun Web Server you set Web Server Port to 8100 and under
JRun Default Server > External Web Server you set Listening Port to 51000.
He set both to 8100 and got messages about the address being in use.
