As much as JRUN is used in the industry (for medium to small size web
projects), I'm surprised that this bug has not been experienced by others
sooner. I have just recently noted the emails regarding this bug, and I
have been registered on Allaire's site since Feb of this year. Is this bug
occurring in the previous versions of JRUN server, or just in JRUN 3.1 (the
latest version)? I know that JRUN 3.1 has other problems particularly with
their tag library, which is why I have NOT upgraded from 3.01 SP2 to 3.1.

Also, is this bug experienced only by those who are using cookies to
save/hold their data (persistent or otherwise), or is it being experienced
by everyone who is using JRUN Server? If there is a work around solution to
this problem for the interim, I would be interested in hearing about it, as
I will be deploying a critical web application here in the next 4 weeks.

Thanks for posting a complaint.

I'm posting for a grass roots attempt to get Macromedia's attention. It is
a useful product, but one with a serious flaw that is now being addressed.

The thing that really irks me is people who waste other peoples time with
posts that serve no purpose except to complain. This forum is meant to be
used to get questions answered not to insult a software vendor. As a
consultant I have had great success with JRun. I, for one, appreciate all
the hard work the Macromedia folks do to create a useful product.

The thing that really irks me is that this is a
serious bug.. If we cannot have faith in the most
basic of functionality of the product, then whats the
point? Its OK to have a bug, but not to address it
clearly and consisely in a conspicous manner is a rip
off. I deal with HR apps. I cannot have one person
viewing anothers hr information. I found out about the
bug too late in the game after the damage was done. If
I had known of a fix, well... and blaming the vendor
is never an excuse. I am currently trying to steer the
organization towards websphere or weblogic. I won't
miss that buggy JMC application either. (I am sure
those other servers have their quirks, but I am hoping
they have the basics down).
