latency can be cause by many things,
and everything has to be considered,
your motherboard, ram, audio interface, other software running, os, etc.
With a properly configured computer that's powerful enough, and with
the right hardware, latency can virtually go away to nothing,
I usually don't cut it this close.
but I can run nearly down to 1ms latency with my hardware in wdm mode
at 96 khz.
I prefer to run asio though, and let the card drivers handle the i-o
it tends to be more stable, and doesn't require profiling every time
you change latency, or sampling rates.
This is an old standard that's been around for a long time, well
;understood, and everybody supports it.

Sorry I was confused. I haven't tried out any softsynths since I
couldn't connect my symth. Is latency on every computer? How do I
stop it? Which 1x1 midi interface would you reccomend?

P.s Sorry, I'm kinda confused myself didn't mean to confuse you.
