Oh forgot to answer a question of yours.

As for my tag-line, I made that up myself, so that was cut and pasted out of my well-used old brain.

This was a possitive response to a very negative situation I fielded about 6 months ago.

I thought it'd be more fun to make up my own tagline that sounded like lawyer-ese than to go find one already done.

many people have asked me about that, and many wanted to borrow it, feel free.

It's a gift to the universe, crafted by a creative brain, which in turn was crafted by the creator 'grin'.

He does good work doesn't he?

But it's well known you've never missed a chance on these email lists to cause trouble with me.

Yes, because it's so easy to rile you up!

Well, I'm fine with my god, the question is, are you?

No, I'm not, but you of course have every right to believe in him.

As to whether hsecular humanists can still be good socially responsible and empathic people with clearly defined values and morals, I suggest you check out a book that thoroughly explores the topic.

And, not being an American, I offer the following quotations from your founding fathers, who were quite concerned about any one religion becoming overly dominant or connected to political power:

"The United States is in no sense founded upon the Christian doctrine." George Washington

"It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg."
Thomas Jefferson

"I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of, My own mind is my own church." Thomas Paine

"I do not find in orthodox Christianity one redeeming feature."
Thomas Jefferson

"The Bible is not my book, and Christianity is not my religion. I could never give assent to the long, complicated statements Of Christian dogma."
Abraham Lincoln

and, this is my last post on the topic. May the thread die a quick death.
Chris
