Go Chris B! Same stance here, but we have tons of differences otherwise (in what should/shouldn't happen). Dropping thread...

And to me personally, you never miss a chance to judge, or try to verbally ensnare me in ;your interpretation of what the bible is supposed to be all about. for a non-believer, why do you spend so much energy trying to make believers look bad? If most atheists were kind, empathetic people, which I have met some that are, then I could go along with some of this live and let live, but most of you aren't, casting scorn and trying to find fault with all us believers. Well, I see no shame in being a fraille human being who needs a redeemer. And my friend, with out some sort of absolute moral reference, everything becomes relativeism. YOu deceive yourself. us christians are no more righteous or better than you, that's where you guys make the mistake. Don't even expect us to be, because we have the same flaws as all fallen man kind does. the difference is is that we have a redeemer and we are made holy. This is my last post on the topic too, and Chris, if you want to portray yourself as being empathetic and winning points for your word view, don't fire any more pot shots at christians publically on email lists, and being empathetic doesn't mean riling someone up about something sensitive just because you can. I count it little enough to sacrifice to stand up for my faith, because there's always that one chance for a seed to be planted. If one person doesn't go to hell because of that, well, they can kick me of all the email lists, I'll never stop talking about jesus, I'll never rub it in anyone's face, but when someone challenges me, I will not back down about eternal differences, even with someone who i don't get along with, because eternity is a long time my friend. So this is where i stand, in his loving grip, flaws and all. t 12:55 PM 9/21/2010, you wrote: >At 01:09 PM 9/21/2010, you wrote: >>But it's well known you've never missed a chance on these email >>lists to cause trouble with me. > >Yes, because it's so easy to rile you up! > >>Well, I'm fine with my god, the question is, are you? > >No, I'm not, but you of course have every right to believe in him. > >As to whether hsecular humanists can still be good socially >responsible and empathic people with clearly defined values and >morals, I suggest you check out a book that thoroughly explores the topic. >http://www.amazon.com/Can-We-Good-Without-God/dp/1573929743 > >And, not being an American, I offer the following quotations from >your founding fathers, who were quite concerned about any one >religion becoming overly dominant or connected to political power: > >"The United States is in no sense founded upon the Christian >doctrine."
