Hi Norm,
I'm a new subscriber to this list, within the past week, and already I have
the same reaction you expressed. The solution, to me, appears to be a
Usenet newsgroup. That has two advantages over a Majordomo list for
topics of broad and lasting interest:
1. Right away, you can separate the activity of reading email (which
resembles catching up with voicemail) from that of scanning the
newsgroup (which is more like reading a magazine).
2. You can take the convenience level a step farther by using a Web-
based service such as DejaNews, Newsguy or RemarQ; these
outfits archive several days' worth of most newsgroups' activity
and make it easy to pick out only what most interests you.
I can see that there's a "comp.lang.java.beans" already out there, but
no "comp.lang.jsp". Any volunteers to start such a group?
