I'm a new subscriber too. When I found over 40 messages in my JSP inbox one day
last week, my first idea was that I should sign off this jumbo list before my
email box bursts. However, after I read all the messages through (esp. the ASP
vs. JSP arguments), I got a much better understanding in JSP and become a big
fan of this list. Now I am even considering the possibility to adopt JSP rather
than ASP for my current OA project.

big amount of feedback from the veterans on a question like "what is the so
great about JSP".
I truly understand that for programmers like Norman, who "only need to review
the pure technical postings each day", it is indeed a waste of time to delete
the "ASP vs. JSP" stuff every day. I am sorry for this. But for a relatively new
technology like JSP, isn't it one of the purposes of this mail list to INTRODUCE
the knowledge and know-how to newcomers? There is a need for this.
IMHO, the clever moderators of this list should balance the newbies' need and
the need for "pure technical postings". Subdividing the list can be a way to
customize messages, but I wish some of us can think of a better way. Besides, an
email list is more accessible than a "comp.lang.jsp" Usenet newsgroup.
