Oops. sorry. there should be no double quote before where.

Why is there a space in uname?
        where uname = ' " + uname + " ' ";

        this will result to a where uname = ' my_uname ';

        depending on the settings of your database,
        where uname = ' my_uname ';

        is different compared to:

        where uname = 'my_uname';

        [without leading and trailing spaces]
