new language support is always welcome !
Have a look at the etc/i18n folder, there are three files for every language
(CoreResources*, PluginResources*, default*), each containing the language
strings.
Create Portugese versions of these, submit a JIRA issue and attach the files
there.

There is a handy utility TranslationsCheck that you can use to validate your
language files.
