Dear Erwan & Everyone

I'd say an there's an excellent chance it'll be around for a long time. The Foundation is a not-for-profit, and has been around for 12 years already. There are more than 250 companies and growing funding which seems as solid as you can get.

It is LocationTech's policy to host lists for the projects that choose to host with it for what that's worth. There are some beneficial reasons such as the Foundation's privacy policy, and the fact it is governed by it's community.

SourceForge is not without its controversies unfortunately. But I suspect everyone knew that already.

Again, for what it's worth, many many projects have migrated over to Foundation hosted lists and it's gone pretty well. You might leave the old list up for a while for archives and eventually make it read-only perhaps?

I'm here to help if there are any questions.

Kind regards,

Andrea

Dear All,

I am also surprised. As Stefan saids "what is the probability that LocationTech is providing this service for the next 10 years?". and "this" list is kind of the reference list to me" and the *community*.

Best regards

    Hi all,

oh yeah.. that's a bit of surprise that you guys started talking
about JTS on "another" list. However, I don't see a reason to
migrate this list to Location Tech. I know that this is/was
basically a one-man project - but "this" list is kind of the
reference list to me. Content wise its also a lot about usage and
not "dev". But so far the mix works. Also a question would be:
what is the probability that LocationTech is providing this
service for the next 10 years?

At the end I think Martin should decide, though.

    my 2 cents,
    Stefan

Recently, the JTS team (not just Martin any more) created a new

Of course, I'm aware of this being a member of the LocationTech
community but I bet most people reading this are not aware there
is a new list. JTS committers, can you please confirm that this
SourceForge based list should be dormant/disabled and we should
recommend all future discussions move there? If so please
    disable this list.
