Hi Dennis,

The subject heading was: "[jug-discussion] RE: MedHelp 16974", and when I
opened it I got an image with text and pictures of various products like Viagra
taking one to a live web site, whose URL is http://www.birdpose.com?.? Below
that is the text: "To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional
commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]".

Obviously someone associated with the "birdpose" link is funding this sort of
spam, and isn't that illegal, or is it possible to get the people hosting such
web sites to close them done down?

I have a Gmail account, and it is [EMAIL PROTECTED], and I have no problem with
spam on it, but I only got it earlier this year and a lot of my e-mails still
come in on my AOL account.? Perhaps I should change this for JUG and other
newsgroups I am on.

Christopher

I didn't get it either, and I don't use Gmail or other filtering.?

Christopher, spam email headers are *always* forged, because spamming is
illegal in many areas. If you have a public email that's posted on the web,
your email address is probably being used for spam. I know mine is - about
every month or so I get a deluge of bounces from email servers all around the
world with a variety of different spam emails being rejected and the rejection
messages coming back to me. I've set up mail filters to eliminate most of them.
So don't take the supposed "from" address on an email seriously.?
?
