One more side note.  JRuby runs on the JVM as well, and for a while was out 
performing the native Ruby interpreters. Not sure if that is still true.

If you want to get crazy and blow your mind, then you might think about 
creating a DSL in Groovy for working with your domain.  <<< This is not for 
beginners, but coolness factor is way high.

actually, I've begun a project and am
