The non-compete does seem too broad. I might try to amend it to 6 months duration after the contract ends. I have done that kind of thing sometimes. Often they do not mind. You can tell them that if it is too broad it is void, so it is in their interest to amend it. That is the law.
Also you could amend it to list their specific products they are concerned about you competing with, and change "no business dealings" to narrow it down to what specific dealings they are concerned about.
Of course, in doing all this, you are quite possibly doing them a big favor in changing what is initially unenforceable, as overly broad, to something that is enforceable, so you have to bear that in mind.....
