I agree completely. I guess I should have said that CVS or Subversion are both 
world-class and work great. I've used Perforce (in addition to many other 
source code management systems) and I keep coming back to CVS or Subversion. 
More recently, Subversion is starting to win consistently. 

Additionally, both CVS and Subversion are free!
