are compatible, and the geometry is copied else if.

Ya replicate items is very useful. It does not work excatly as 
copy/paste as if one copy a single item (interior ring for example), the

I think the given example for copy/item is not possible as copy tools 
make it possible to copy
- a full feature (or geometry)
- a geometry part (a single geometry included in a multigeometry)
- a geometry line (a ring in a polygon)
but not a segment.
I can change the doc if you want.
