actually... instead of merging (i.e. doing something like the openwizard with a sidebar?) - we could also separate them clearly into a "Save Dataset to File" and "Save Dataset to Database" (having maybe a new "Save.." submenu which also contains the other options. Because a savewizard may need to much clicks.
