Porting OpenJump to Java ME would definitely be cool and difficult. OpenJump currently requires too many resources to fit within the constraints of Java ME devices. It might be possible to make a stripped down version similar to ArcPad with limited editing and support for only shapefiles and GML. I think ME provides Swing and Java2D so most of the code should work. I played around with ME a few years ago and managed to get a java app running on my Motorola phone. Given the limited screen area of such devices, the layer name panel would have to be replaced with a fly-out pallet. Come to think of it, that wouldn't be a bad idea anyway.
