In truth, the only thing that really bugs me about
spoken English is when I hear native born speakers say such gems
as, "I ain't got no pencil." or "he has went home." or "They was
all here, but somebody stold one." There are tons more, but
there is a big difference between proper patterns of English
whether spoken in the United States, England or Australia or
other English-speaking countries and bad grammar which, rightly
or wrongly, makes the speaker sound unschooled to put it nicely.

I've noticed that British English speakers make many of
the same gramatical errors that Americans make such as
mutilating forms of to be. It just don't sound no good at
all.;-)

I heard some news report on the BBC recently in which
they were interviewing ordinary folks on the street who had seen
some crime take place or something and one of them said a
sentence in which the word ain't was used and some other common
error was made. I don't remember exactly what it was, but I
remember thinking that it sounded like the same sort of things
you can hear on the street here except with a British accent. It
was a regional British accent, but the grammar was wrong for
either side of the Atlantic.
