I haven't done this because uninstalling, re-installing and re-syncing my email is a serious pain, even with settings export and import; Android won't allow me to just freakin' install an older version, dammit. That said, I'm sicker than a dog and so I actually have some time. I tried to characterize this bug with no definitive results. I haven't found a message that will always or never display, so I can confidently conclude that it's not dependent on message content, or on theme. More explicitly, any given message may or may not display. It (definitely) doesn't alternate or (AFAICT with 15 min of testing) depend on how I get to a message (prev/next, folder view), or whether the previous message displayed properly. In short, I can't reliably reproduce the bug on demand, but it happens with about 50% probability any time I attempt to display any given message.
