Got context, I'm running a 2013 Nexus 7, WiFi only, with settings imported from a Xoom. K9 Verizon 4.801. Android 4.4.2 rooted and I am NOT having this problem. You may want to try clearing cache, clearing local data out just clearing all data. Setting up from scratch may be a PITA but it may be the only fix.
