I have a Pop account so maybe folders aren't supported.

I don't see a row of icons at the bottom when reading a message.

A badge is a small red circle over an icon indicating how many unread
notifications you have in that app, like in this case unread emails.  This
is a very common feature in email and message apps.

I only have one email account.
