Well, the question was not "does K9 allow folder creation" but rather "can I move emails from one folder to the other." After researching K9 a bit, I did see that folder creation is not supported for POP accounts. But myMail and Samsung's factory installed email app, to cite two examples, are both apps that support POP accounts AND also allow the user to transfer emails between accounts.
I bring this up because I've accidentally deleted mails many times. It would be nice to be able to send them back to the inbox. You could work around this by forwarding the deleted mail back to yourself, but that seems a little unglamorous.
