With K-9 (IMAP) what is your setting for the number of messages to
be retrieved/displayed for the mailbox(s) in question?

Desk/laptop (IMAP) mail clients (like thunderbird) generally pull
all the messages for a mailbox. Most mobile (IMAP) mail clients only
pull a specified number. While K-9 does let you set that to "all", I
think the default is in the 10-50 range. I haven't played with
things to see whether that is the "most recently received" or "most
recently sent" (or one of the other sort options), but the sent vs.
received dates could effect things.
