If you're getting notifications with those K-9 settings I suspect
something else is going on. You might want to turn on K-9's
debugging options to see if the notifications are from K-9 and
if/how it is getting/seeing the new mail.

If the other mail client(s) you have installed are branches from K-9
I wouldn't be surprised if they are writing to the same mail store
that K-9 reads from.
