I am also a long-time user of K9 and like it a lot. But an email client
that does not receive email (especially by push) is kind of a problem.
FWIW, I have 4 gmail accounts all working as expected (push delivery,
flashing LED + audible alerts, notifications that dismiss themselves
etc.) on my OnePlus 3T with Nougat 7.1.1
So whatever the problem is it's not as simple as "Nougat breaks Email sync".
As someone who writes software for a living, I can tell you that Emails
about "broken" functionality that aren't accompanied by steps to
replicate the problem and details of the device, OS etc. won't get
looked at (at least by me) any time soon.
