If you do a search for sync (or sync disabled) you'll see a lot of open
issues for the problem.
Unfortunately, most of them are marked as duplicates of existing reports
and, ultimately, this seems to be the open issue ..

And it's been open for a while.
And nobody is going to thank you if you open another duplicate issue. So
don't do that.
