Are you getting the message "Cannot copy or move a message that is not synchronized with the server."?

Are you using POP or IMAP? If POP someone else will have to help.

If IMAP try this:

Go to the trash folder. Select a couple of messages to test. That should enable the open folder icon in the toolbar. Press that open folder icon. If you get the error msg as above, then press the toolbar icon with the two arrows in a circle. That should sync the folder with the server. Now you should be able to move the messages back to the inbox or where ever you want.

Thanks, the problem occurred because I clumsily selected delete all the messages in the Sent folder, so they ended up in Trash. I cannot see how to move them back to Sent.

There doesn't appear to be an option to move items in the Trash folder nor copy and paste them.

    Robert,

I've found this same issue somewhat frustrating on IMAP accounts but
here is what I have done.  If you are using POP then I'm not sure why
you have the problem since the messages are all local.

With IMAP account, I have to sync to the server (circle icon in
    toolbar)
to ensure the IMAP server sees and moves the files to the trash like in
K9.  After the sync, I am able to select the email and then move to the
    inbox again.

    Hope this helps.
