Thanks a lot for your answer, Tony. I tried AquaMail many years ago when they had some issues with privacy and data safety, so I switched to K9 instead. I don't know if AquaMail became "safe" in the meanwhile but since I would have to pay for the Pro version (I have more than 3 accounts) I prefer staying with K9.
I read the other thread you mentioned and tried some of the advices, but nothing worked for me. Maybe it's just a matter of my Nokia 6 on Android 8 since I have permission problems in other apps, too.
