I don't really want to do official "make dist" snapshots more
often than that, because there's always a lot of finicky Makefile.am
fixes required. If somebody else wants to volunteer to do that work, I
guess we could do it more often.
I wouldn't mind having a 'make distcheck' done somewhere after each checkin, but I guess that belongs into the realm of regression testing. But once we have regular regression testing in place, I don't think that automatically publishing the resulting 'dists' if they pass 'make distcheck' would be a bad thing.
