DESCRIPTION
I am running plasmashell 6.6.4 and GNU emacs 30.2 inside Kubuntu 26.04 LTS with
NVIDIA GB205 [GeForce RTX 5070] driver: nvidia v: 595.71.05 and 12-core model
of AMD Ryzen 9 9900X. I logged into Wayland today and I was then unable to
logout using the taskbar and application launcher, because the taskbar and
application launcher were missing. Killing and restarting the plasmashell did
not fix the taskbar/application launcher. I had to logout using ctrl-alt-del
and then select logout. I then logged into X11 to obtain the
taskbar/application launcher. This is not an issue when logging into X11.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. login to Kubuntu 26.04 LTS with Wayland
2. note that the entire panel that many refer to as the taskbar containing
the application launcher is missing.
3. killing and restarting plasmashell does not resurrect the taskbar /
application launcher.
OBSERVED RESULT
The entire panel that many refer to as the taskbar containing the application
launcher is missing and does not appear after killing and restarting
plasmashell.
EXPECTED RESULT
The entire panel that many refer to as the taskbar containing the application
launcher should not be missing and should appear once the plasmashell is
restarted.
