When I manually added a transaction this morning, it started with a date in July when the latest transaction date in that account was a few days ago. As far as I can tell, there is a random number generator selecting the date. I've seen weeks in the past through weeks in the future. I don't enter transactions manually often enough to care that much or keep track of it, but it is annoying and unpredictable. This has been a minor annoyance since updating to 5.2. As I remember it, previous versions started with today's date which is almost always correct or close enough to fix with a few + or - keys.
