Bug ID: 524162
Summary: Show "Apply System Update" Setting only when system
packages are managed through Discover
Classification: Applications
Product: systemsettings
Version First 6.7.3
Reported In:
Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: kcm_updates
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
Hi there,
on my system, I only have the flatpak and firmware backend activated for
Discover, so no packagekit. However, in the system settings update page, there
is still a setting to configure whether system updates should be installed
instantaniuously or after a reboot. However, this setting doesn't have an
effect on my system. Would it be possible to not show it in these cases?
I added this as a wishlist item, but I'm not sure whether it should be seen as
a bug to have a setting that does nothing on a system or not.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have only flatpak & firmware management enabled in Discover
2. Go to system settings update page
3. See "Apply System Update" setting that doesn't do anything
OBSERVED RESULT
The "Apply System Update" setting is shown in the update KCM
EXPECTED RESULT
The "Apply System Update" setting is not shown in the update KCM
