FWIW, Spectacle had that code two years before the referenced code in
qqc2-desktop-style was written. I don't remember the exact reason, but I think
it was written that way just so that native text rendering would be used by
default since QQuickWindow normally defaulted to using non-native text
rendering. I thought there was a reason Spectacle was written differently, but
after seeing the commit dates, maybe not.
