Bug ID: 526214
Summary: Trash widget: option to use the full-color icon in
panels
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.6.6
Reported In:
Platform: Kubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: Trash widget
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
In a panel the Trash widget always shows a symbolic icon:
applets/trash/main.qml appends "-symbolic" to the icon name whenever the widget
is in a panel (user-trash-symbolic / user-trash-full-symbolic). In a dock-style
panel with the Icons-only Task Manager and full-color app icons, the trash is
the only monochrome icon, and there is no setting to change it.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add the Trash widget to a panel next to an Icons-only Task Manager.
OBSERVED RESULT
A monochrome trash icon among full-color icons.
EXPECTED RESULT
An option to use the full-color user-trash / user-trash-full icons, for example
"Use symbolic icon" in the widget settings, on by default.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Kubuntu 26.04.1, Plasma 6.6.6, KDE Frameworks 6.24.0, Qt 6.10.2, Wayland. The
code is the same on plasma-desktop master.
