It sounds like you have completely different issue to the issue in #1. So lets use this bug for that and start anew in a hopefully more productive way. The mouse moves - so x11 is not frozen Libreoffice updates, so client buffers update - therefore we also know kwin is not frozen (assuming compositing is on) "all windows are still there, just frozen." - what does this entail?
