My version (20080825c-final, latest I think) has a Drag (G) command which can operate on components but not wires.
Right click on the component - then "drag" it - wires stay attached.

OK. I found a version labeled 2008-03-20 that seems to have
the Grab command and it works just fine. Thanks.
Now, the next question, is there any way to grab a wire vertex
and just move it? All I seem to be able to do is delete nodes
and entire connections.
