Yes I am appreciative also of Jean-Pierre's work. He has been quite active lately. But he is not alone, and I think there's risk that this "essentially alone" remark might offend some of the others who are contributing. You would be wise to check the CHANGELOG.txt file and the developer's mailing in the future if you are unclear about where new sources and forces of progress are coming from. And obviously you are unclear.
