Yes I am appreciative also of Jean-Pierre' s work. He has been quite
active lately.
But he is not alone, and I think there's risk that this "essentially
alone" remark might offend some of the others who are contributing.
You would be wise to check the CHANGELOG.txt file and the developer's
mailing in the future if you are unclear about where new sources and
forces of progress are coming from. And obviously you are unclear.
Fortunately, i am not alone.
(A friend of mine said me a day: a man alone is a dead man. He was
talking about work).
Very important and complex enhancements like complex hierarchy in
eeschema or specttra import/export (and a lot of others things) in pcbnew
were not made by me, but by contributors.
Some others major enhancements are also made (and are currently made) by
contributors
who spent a lot of time to undersand and clean the existing code (that
was sometime ugly and obscure).
These enhancements inside kicad code are not always visible by users,
but they are mandatory to allow Kicad to be more robust
(no bugs if possible).
