Ok, I hadn’t understood that it was possible to generate the lib from the dump. That’s a way then.
Your right, it’s not an easy way, but I’m going to look at this documentation which explains the method. It’s probably in the manual or in the Kicad files… Damn isn’t there a software guy in the group able to create a windows tool for lib management ? ;-) Stephane De : [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] De la part de Andy Eskelson Envoyé : mercredi 13 janvier 2010 02:41 À : [email protected] Objet : Re: [kicad-users] Tool for library management Hi Stephane, That is sort of what the system does. Dump the modules onto a page, and get rid of the modules you don't want. (or move them to other pages) Then you can use: file > archive footprints > create footprint archive which will create a new footprint library for you, from the modules on the page. As time progresses you can add modules to the page when you need to, then regenerate the library again. This means that the page with the footprints on them becomes the main library source. I admit that is seems an odd method to use, but it is pretty easy, and you automatically get some documentation to print out if needed.
