OK, I'm stuck. I've just recreated your circuit and as far as I can tell connecting a power port to a hidden (power) pin connects all parts that have the same pin name to your power port. However, that can't possibly be right as you then couldn't have components operating off two different rails if their power pins just happen to share the same pin name. I routinely work with multiple supply rails and I haven't had any problems until now.
