Okay, let's be honest.. .who among here in the govt sectors or in corporate or private sectors who can honestly say that "College Math helped me with my line of work"?

My father is one of Mr. Yeban's(an excellent math teacher) pet students and it was very frustating for me that teachers/professor who knew my father made comments like "you're not like your father,eh"... and I have never been good in Math, although I was #9 in a local Math Olympiad once.. Math is useful... in essence Math has always been part of science... the science in "computer science"..but that's only for US-based :D coz in other countries CS is known as Informatics :D (dunno about that authenticity of that, just read that somewhere.. somewhere I could not remember) :D but do you really need math to configure servers? parse xml documents? parse network element HDLC data?? create fancy flash design? Wala man gud na klaro na major major ang CS... more jack-of-all-trades man tingali ang luto-style diha.. sure, come up with some basic divisions like "IT" or "NetAdmin" or "SoftEng"... Okay, let's be honest.. .who among here in the govt sectors or in corporate or private sectors who can honestly say that "College Math helped me with my line of work"? :D College Math by the way is the same as high school math... A repeat... not unless kung wala gi discuss sa high school... Sure math has worked wonders with the technology around us? but subjects like math and english are just ways to buff up tuition fees... :D Not all CS students are gonna end up making their own networking path protocol.. nor are they all gonna compute and eat DB complexities... some of them.. or most of them are gonna end up as call center agents anyway... College Math should be left as seminars/electives... dapat sa highschool lang na.. and sa college majors nalang tanan.. :D sorry, but I cant say "huhuhu.. I miss math....
