why not just try what the other guys did? setup a dns and dhcp server and 
follow their footwork. i dunno much abt linux but in win2k3 server dns and dhcp 
server are built-in. its just a matter of envoking it. a few clicks and its 
ready for tinkering. 
it seems they fooled the device into thinking its connected to vonage when in 
fact its only connected to the dummy dns you setup. then the ip address is 
changed.
