IMHO, in addition to the above, Peopleware by Tom DeMarco and Timothy Lister Code Complete by Steve McConnell problem is these books are old, so gud luck finding them in the Philippines :) Correct me if I'm wrong but In addition to books, it's also important to read raw code.
