IMHO, in addition to the above,
Peopleware by Tom DeMarco and Timothy Lister
Code Complete by Steve McConnell

problem is these books are old, so gud luck finding them in the
Philippines :)

Correct me if I'm wrong but In addition to books, it's also important to
read raw code.

exactly, Code Complete by Steve McConnell as suggested also by my boss. it
helps a lot. haven't started reading it but certainly i will during
weekends. :-)
