heheheh tildemark kinsa man diay gatubag sa imo sauna hehehe...I used to work for Philcom, so mao ra jud ni ako masulti 512mbps is the burst rate which means that on that DSL port youre connected, it is set to maximum 512kbps. Meaning from your modem to Philcom NOC it is running in 512kbps bandwidth.
Now from Philcom NOC to Internet world , they are using a bunch of DS3. 1 DS3 is equivalent to 45mbps. On this side, there is the bandwidth manager which allocates the actual bandwidth of your modem to the outside world. It is where they put the CIR, others open this with no restrictions. As far as i know, the last time Philcom open it with no restrictions. I just know that were having a big problem before with Peer to Peer which is consuming too much bandwidth because of thousand sessions it has. I am not sure if it is still open until now. In comparison to other countries such as Singapore, i can only say that as long as our Government will not put policy against p2p in our local ISP, latency and bandwidth problem will always be there. In fact, i have encountered so may subscribers before who uses P2P download speed as their benchmark when complaining about slow internet. Kana lang, hehe regards ko sa Cagayan!
