Hello all,

How do you test a NIC before you deploy your server to production use?
Or, is there any tool you use to test the stability of your NIC or its
driver?

For your information, anyone who uses the "Marvell Technology Group
Ltd. 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller" are not safe from a
system crash due to the sky2 driver that it uses. Even if you're
running RHEL 5.1, CentOS 5.1 or Debian Etch using their stock (stable)
kernels, you're still not safe from the bugs of the sky2 driver. You
can take a look at http://git.kernel.org/ for more information about
the sky2 driver and check whether you are also using this driver with
a very old version.

Please share. I badly need a way to stress test a NIC or any tool to test a NIC.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Marvin
