Hmm for the basics in Linux, of course you need to install Linux. As what
other posters said, any flavor or distro will do. But i think Ubuntu is the
most popular right now. It has a great community. I recommend installing
Ubuntu.
Try to use linux everyday. Diha nimo ma encounter ang mga scenarios para
matun-an ang linux. Diha ra nimo matun-an tanan nimo kinahanglan. Dula-a
lang ang Linux. Sure ko malingaw jud ka. :)

As for the Java, wala pa ko ka suway og password sa console. Why don't you
try this:
