I have some comments.

Wont happen specially if the salary cap here in CDO remains low compared to
CEBU or DAVAO. I mean, for those who are working in CDO now. Try to evaluate
your current salaries and compare that to the ones in Cebu doing the same
work as you do.

One thing really is to have a group that will bring together all IT pros and
practitioners here in CDO and organize. Not some business-centric
organization that only serves the business aspect (like some "umbrella"
group I know). And the organization must be able to stand and lobby for an
increase in IT salaries here in CDO or else IT talents fly to Manila, Cebu,
or abroad. Before you know it, there's brain drain happening.

Currently, CDO has become a training ground and talent pool, but it doesn't
retain most of its IT talents because 1) salary is low 2) most IT outfits
here do not think out of the box - they keep doing the same things that
companies in other cities do.

No problem on this one. However, unless every member will start actively
contributing what they know, it won't happen. Openly contribute ideas,
snippets of code, techniques, etc.. in order to grow as a team and as a
group.

Also, I'd like to add. A brilliant mind must be able to think out of the box
and be able to separate oneself from the pack to discover his/her own
weaknesses because that's the way to grow.

Best of luck everyone!
